Education and experience:
Geert Frederix (1985) is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Utrecht on research in HTA and pharmacoeconomics, focussing on methodology of economic evaluations.
Before coming to Utrecht he performed research for his PhD degree at the Netherlands Cancer Institute – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital (NKI-AvL) in Amsterdam. This research project was supervised by Prof. dr. J.H.M. Schellens, Prof. dr. J.L. Severens, joint supervisor Dr. A.M. Hövels and Prof. dr. J.A.M. Raaijmakers. Main objectives of his PhD project were to increase quality of cost-effectiveness analysis (CEAs) of early breast cancer therapies by means of standardization. In addition new transparent approaches of implementing CEAs in the statistical scripting language R were investigated and new pharmacoeconomic R models were developed and published. The title of his thesis was “Disease specific methods for economic evaluations of breast cancer therapies” which he defended successfully on the 12th of June 2013.
